Women have contributed tremendously to the wonders of aviation. They have made a significant presence in the aviation field and have given so much to the industries many successes. Women are a very important part of our nations economy and for generations after generations, they have achieved the goals of becoming pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, mechanics, astronauts, flight attendants, aviation enthusiasts and accomplished professionals.
I am proud to be a "Sky High" Fly Girl and especially pleased to serve as a dedicated volunteer with the Black Pilots of America, Inc., the Bronze Eagles Flying Club of Texas, Inc. and the Bessie Coleman Foundation, Inc. These outstanding non-profit civil organizations promote aviation to youth and continue to encourage their interest in aviation and related fields.
The Black Pilots of America, Inc. Summer Flight Academy Class of 2004 has four dynamic female students attending our aviation camp this summer at Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas. These "Sky High" Fly Girls are truly a great representation of our future Women in Aviation. After "mixing and mingling" with these lovely young ladies during the past several weeks, I truly feel that all four are going to accomplish their goals in life and win many victories, whether in the air or on the ground.
While continuing the annals of aviation history, I conducted an interview with the BPA, Inc. Summer Flight Academy "Sky High" Fly Girls, to enlighten aviation enthusiasts throughout the nation.
