BRONZE EAGLES PUT ON A CLINIC

Sky Hook 2005

As told by Doug Smoots

At Slap down one in El Paso Texas, I was talking to Ron Lisberg and mentioned that I would like to do a more innovative scoring system for Skyhook.  Ron was running for BPA ops officer, and he confessed that he had no idea what the job was all about.  I didn’t do anything on the program until he called me after the election and told me to get busy.  I mentioned that I was working on the program to Anthony Hall, and he said that they won’t be using my program this year, so I came to a screeching halt.  Needless to say, Ron called me in April to see how I was doing.  I told him I had stopped, as the program would not be used this year.  Ron told me we didn’t have a program and mine was it.  Never one to drop a challenge, I spent the next month and a half of nights and weekends working to write and prefect my system.

May 26th, the Bronze Eagles quietly slipped into the town of Pine Bluff Ark. with four planes.  Later that day the California Red Tails came in a massive formation, and put on quite a show. A lot of trash talking ensued.  The BEFC was quiet for the most part.
